Sage Our Lady Shawl

Sage, Salvia officinalis, is one of the many herbs dedicated to Mother Mary. It was known as Mary’s Shawl. Christmas falls very close to the Winter Solstice, the darkest time of the year. This is the time of the year that can be really hard for people. It seems life’s lessons come to a crescendo. Sage is the herb of wisdom, like its name. It is drank as tea to age gracefully by the elders of Germany.
Just for a moment, imagine you are being wrapped in a sage green shawl bya Wise Divine Mother. This shawl is soothing and healing. It brings you comfort right now. You begin to be filled with wisdom and solutions for every worry, for every problem. Just for a moment you can let go of how to figure your life out and you fall into the arms of trust. This Wise Mother gently whispers in your ear and she say “Let it Be”. Today we place a sprig of sage into the creche.
